Changelog & monthly updates
Aug 7, 2025
Hi there 👋,
It’s Flo here with our monthly update and let me tell you, Notis and I have been cooking!

🤑 New Plans
I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is that Notis is growing fast 📈 - we’re doubling new subscriptions month-to-month. The bad news is that we can’t afford to give out unlimited tokens to our users (some users currently spend 60 USD/month on OpenAI credit). So I scratched my head hard to come up with a pricing model that is fair to everyone. Here is the result:
You can track your usage in our new portal (see below 👇)
This new model will make it financially viable to offer GPT-5 when it’s released in a few weeks/months, but it will also let our users choose which models best meet their needs based on their own cost/value appreciation.
Changing the pricing model is always tricky, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly if this is not working for you or seems unfair, and we’ll find a solution that works for you!

📈 New Portal
To track your usage, we came up with a brand new portal, but we couldn’t stop there. The new portal comes with the following features:
This new portal lays the foundation for upcoming integrations with new sources (e.g., calendar), more settings and customization (e.g., choosing your models), and more automations (e.g., direct Notion webhooks integration 🤫).

🆘 New Help Center
God knows, I’ve been procrastinating on this forever, but we now have proper documentation available at https://help.notis.ai — but best of all, we’ve trained Notis on it; so Notis can finally stop hallucinating about what it does and doesn’t do and be a proper help to users.
In the coming weeks and months, I’ll invest significant effort to create guides that show you how I use Notis to automate my social media posting (this one is already live), my blog, newsletter, and so much more. My vision for this documentation is for it to become a playbook to teach everyone how to build and leverage your Notion Second Brain as a digital asset to create a substantial competitive advantage in your professional life. As the official “Human in Residence” of my company, I realize I’m in a unique position to show others how game-changing this approach to productivity is in an era of artificial intelligence.
🐞 Other small improvements
Notis should be noticeably faster as we continue to improve our technical infrastructure.
Notis can now extract YouTube transcripts.
We’ve changed how Notis handles transcripts and audio recordings to make it more flexible in both Notion and emails. Notis can now use those in attachments like any other documents you share with Notis.
We’ve moved to the Perplexity Deep Research model from OpenAI, which is state-of-the-art right now.
Email threads are kept tidy, so you won’t get messages mixed together.
Editing a Notion page won’t interfere with your icons anymore.
🗞️ In Other News
After personally onboarding 163 users to Notis, I’ve replaced our onboarding 1-on-1 sessions with daily office hours. Check the next time and feel free to join at any time. When no one shows up, I’m streaming live, exploring new use cases for Notis or creating tutorials for you. Here’s some of my favorite from this month:
Between the lives and the weekly shorts we produce, our YouTube channel is becoming a great place to learn more about Notis. I hope the latest series coproduced with @DemetriPanici will inspire you to do more with Notis. Here’s my favorite from this month:
📰 AI News
Here's everything cool we saw happening this month in AI:
😱 Notion AI can now use Notion: Believe it or not Notion AI can finally query it’s own database; it only took their AI team 2.5 years since the initial release of Notion AI. I was so excited that I made a video about it. You know I like to tease Notion — especially when it comes on what they work on. But it seems my cocky is about to come to an hand as they just announce a new release of Notion AI that I am truly excited about and kind of terrified too! I don’t have access yet to this new “Cursor mode” but you’ll see a video on our channel as soon as I do.
🍓 OpenAI Prepares GPT-5 Launch for Early August: Multiple leaks and confirmations surfaced about GPT-5's imminent release, described as a "step change" with a new architecture, superior software engineering, agent-style planning, multi-step workflows, and reduced hallucinations. It's expected to outperform Claude Sonnet 4, with mini and nano versions via API. Sam Altman and insiders teased its internal use and scalability up to "GPT-8.” (X)
🆓 OpenAI's First Open-Source Model: OpenAI released is first open source model GPT-OSS that achieve similar performance than o4-mini and can be ran locally on a 16GB laptop. (X)
🥇 Geoffrey Hinton's Interview: Dubbed the "most important AI interview of 2025," Hinton discussed mind-blowing facts about AI, including career advice in an AI-dominated world. Key shocks: AI's potential to surpass human intelligence and reshape jobs. (X)
🥈 Google CEO Sundar Pichai's Interview: Labeled another "most important" of 2025, Pichai revealed AGI timelines, the singularity's arrival, and terrifying implications like job vanishing. He emphasized AI's role in productivity and risks. (X)
That's it for this month. See you in next month!
